Jane was the keystone that brought our project together. We had planned for years on redoing our kitchen, but when the dishwasher leaked and damaged the cabinetry and flooring, we knew it was time. Still, we didn't have the grand vision of what it could be, and the last thing we wanted to do was begin repairs without it. Was it possible to get everything we wanted in the finished kitchen? We met with several designers, and were honestly underwhelmed with the possibilities - lots of uninspired one-size-fits-all plans that left us frustrated. Then entered Jane, who truly listened to what we wanted, engaged, and even challenged us on what the space could be - she had great ideas. She worked with us from the first day to the last, and we valued her input every step along the way - from the original layout, figuring out our style and developing a concept board, selecting the materials for the counter-tops, the flooring, the tile, and even the furnishings to make this space our own. I could not be more pleased with the final result. Friends and neighbors that stop by comment on how fabulous it is, and say they wish they lived here. We are so happy we found her. We look forward to working with her again in the future to update our bathrooms.

Jane was a true godsend! I had just moved into my new space and was planning on hosting some family within a month. Even with this insane timeline, Jane was ready to start helping ASAP, and oh boy, did she DELIVER! We would make multiple trips to different stores to buy furniture, decoration, artwork, and other items we felt were necessary for the space. Throughout the whole process, I always felt that my opinion was heard, and she also did a good job in conveying her suggestions without making me feel dismissed. She would come over and help select the most optimal locations for the items we purchased, as well as helping oversee the placement of furniture and artwork. We were working hard until the very last day before my guest came, and when they came, their jaws dropped in awe as they saw what the space had become. Jane was my first experience with an interior decorator, and I left the process feeling like it was very worth it. I'd 100% recommend Jane for any interior decorating services. and I plan to consult with her in the future if the need ever arises!

When we purchased our condo in downtown Seattle, we decided (for the first time ever) to hire a decorator/designer to handle renovations. I'd never hired one before, but thought it would be easy to find someone! I started making calls, and arranging meetings. I quickly realized it was anything BUT easy. Some downtown design firms thought we were "too small", other firms told me firmly they would NOT do “my vision”, they would only do their own. If an ideas of mine "fit", they would try to incorporate it (but no promises). Forward 6 months into purchase, (September); still not living there, I began thinking we would have to handle renovations ourselves. We were overwhelmed with life, and I wearily searched for another designer. I thought I would have to settle for whoever I found. After several more calls, one was returned. The designer immediately began asking me questions about the project, property, ideas we had for changes...it dawned on me part way through the questions that she was doing an amazing job of developing a picture of the job, and what our 'perfect' completion would look like! After our conversation I was excited for the FIRST time since we purchased the place! I wanted to call her back and beg her to come onboard! I waited until our meeting and she did not disappoint! 4 months later, we are moving in to a DESIGN DREAM!! EVERYTHING we wanted! When I was unsure of my own design vision/idea, Jane helped me complete it. We sit in the condo, and feel like we are in a magazine spread! We are over-the-moon with the finished product!! Jane has a superb design sense, understands how to see others vision. She has excellent communication skills, not just with us, but is extremely adept and skilled and working with contractors whose skills are not often vision or communication. Rather than allowing them to push back on an idea, she skillfully leads them in the right direction and gets the job done. I never once spoke with her, when she didn't give 100%. Never did I see her have an "off" day. When it came time to move in I thought; " we just bring your stuff and figure it out." but Jane, ( just as she did with everything else) came in with a schematic, and tape measure, looked at every piece of furniture and art, measured it, drew it in, then sent me a list of what was to be packed. So upon moving and loading day; all I had to do is look at the list, point at each piece of furniture and art that had to go, and gather it up.
Cannot say enough good things about Jane's professionalism! Would definitely hire her again. Would definitely be first choice to hire again! If you are looking for someone to help you with YOUR vision, no matter how big or small; Jane is the best!

We worked with Jane this past year on a complete renovation after our vacation home flooded. At first, we thought “how hard could it be to pick out design elements?”. The answer is that it is super hard!! We knew certain ideas that we wanted and Jane took those ideas and ran with it. She made sure everything was cohesive and would produce the final result that we wanted. When we look at the house now, we can’t imagine what it would look like without Jane’s help. And even with the house being far away and requiring a ferry trip to get there, an incredibly frustrating building crew, Jane was always open to helping us. After seeing Jane’s other work and with what she did to our house, I can confidently recommend her to anyone who maybe just needs a little help or someone who wants a designer to completely handle the project. She works with you at the level you’re comfortable with. The 3D renderings Jane does are invaluable. They helped us picture her ideas and also were a huge help to the building crew. Jane has exceeded any expectations we could’ve had and has truly transformed our house into one that finally feels like home. When ever somebody stops by, they are blown away with the choices she made and the attention to detail. Thank you so much Jane, the house is gorgeous and we couldn’t be more grateful!!

Jane Brookman Designs has entirely transformed my dark and dated kitchen, dining, and living room! I had put off remodeling because I was overwhelmed and no idea where to begin. I wanted to take out a wall to open up my dining room, move appliances, and restructure my cabinets and pantry. It felt like I would need an engineer and an architect to accomplish all of my goals, but Jane was able to determine the functionality of the space so it met my needs, while also incorporating my style & vision. Jane has been such a tremendous help to us. Having purchased a new home we definitely needed some direction on how to handle our new great room. She came and took the time to take measurements and talk to us about what WE really wanted the room to look like. What kinds of things we liked. Styles, colors, textures all of it. She created several digital examples of how we could use the space. Which really is so nice. It's one thing to talk about it but incredibly helpful to have a visual. Our space is a little funky but she had several great ideas on how to style it. We had a pretty restrictive budget. But Jane was able to squeeze in everything we needed AND wanted with hardly any sacrifice. From start to finish I really feel that Jane had nothing but our wants and needs in mind. Not only did she do a great job and was very professional, but she made it fun and we couldn't be happier in our new space.
